Yedi Coffee

  • Alistair Wood

Yedi Coffee is the identity design for a chain of fictional coffee shops which aims to reinvigorate the culture of learning and intellectual discussion of traditional coffeehouses in the 17th and 18th centuries. Playing on the heritage of its Ghanaian coffee, it encourages education and cultural enrichment through an interactive branding system which rewards learning. Its aesthetic, typeface and Adinkra symbol system are adapted from their use by the Ashanti people, each representing different intellectual, personal and spiritual concepts.
