With this Zine I was answering the brief to create a publication which demonstrated a Design Culture.
The culture of 'Gambiarra' which is most common in Brazil, a 'Gambiarra' happens when there is a quick fix, it can be the junction of two or more objects giving them a new purpose and meaning. It is a economical and resourceful way of completing a task without having to give into comsumption and buying a new product.
To exemplify this for those of you who know MacGyver it is similar, in the way that to translate into English to do a 'gambiarra' can be 'to pull a MacGyver'. I linked these two concepts and created a Zine, with the intent of it being comical, but also to inspire the readers to not give in to mass concumption and be resourceful and creative.
