Supporting on a large-scale project for Selfridges, working to tight deadlines with daily KPIs and high expectations. Editing copy produced by a team of junior and mid-weight copywriters, working to a very specific brief re: SEO and keyword optimisation and with a strong emphasis on adhering to brand TOV and high editorial standards. In line with the style guide and parameters set forth by the Senior Editor and Greenlight Digital Content and SEO teams, responsible for proofing, subbing and fact-checking copy whilst also creating compelling content myself.
Responsible for producing original content for the site, managing a team of in-house and remote copywriters, developing and maintaining brand guidelines, house style and TOV and proofing/ editing all product and brand landing page copy for clarity, informative content and accuracy. Other key duties: manage copy timetable and ensure deadlines met in timely manner, oversee daily KPIs and workflow, conduct interviews, hire and train freelancers, conceptualise and build emails, create copy for digital marketing campaigns and social platforms and visually merchandise key pages.
In partnership with a friend, co-founded Elevate to provides extra-curricular enrichment to primary-aged children in London using the STEAM model. Shared duties across all aspects of the business including: managing finances and legal, pitching to and liaising with schools, researching and booking venues, developing activity ideas, sourcing resources and running clubs and workshops; sole responsibility for designing and updating website and producing marketing materials.
Took a break from writing and worked in education for a few years. Based in London primary schools, I ran literacy and numeracy focus groups, created lesson plans, worked 1:1 with children, supported with pastoral care, liaised with external services where necessary and managed volunteers.
Primary writer with full responsibility for all product copy across the site. Entrusted with maintaining brand TOV, meeting daily KPIs, working with stylist and buying team to ensure accuracy of information and training and managing freelance writers. Also contributed to the Matches Fashion Blog, crafted copy for emails and online campaigns (affiliate banners, homepage sells, subject lines, editorial stories, style tips), researched and wrote biographies for designer landing pages and assisted with press and consumer magazines.
Responsibilities included researching and writing reviews, city guides and news stories on product launches, designer collaborations and store openings for both print and digital magazines.
Interned for The Independent, Net-a-Porter & SHOP Magazine. Varied responsibilities, including admin work, liaising with PR companies, managing samples for shoots, attending press days, researching designers, trends and story/ feature ideas, creating written content for websites, magazines and in-house presentations, supporting with fact-checking seasonal lookbooks, editing imagery using Photoshop and managing editors’ diaries.
