My passion and drive to succeed in the events industry is clearly indicated by the amount of work and volunteering I have been involved in. I am a very organized individual, with a great ability to manage time efficiently. I have been involved in large-scale events, allowing myself to have an understanding of the demands that need to be met. I can provide flexibility, a creative and innovative mind, and a fantastic ability to communicate confidently with individuals in any situation. Most importantly, I possess a keen eye for detail, an energetic personality with experience in leadership, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to succeed in the events industry.
In August of 2016, I was employed as the Wedding and Events Executive at Winchester House in Putney. My duties here include; managing a portfolio of clients, meeting and dealing with a variety of individuals, venue managing and planning a wide range of events including; Weddings, conferences, parties and many more. Here I have always gone the extra mile to ensure clients are beyond satisfied with the service provided to them.
In July 2016 I was asked to assist at one of Inca Productions events; The Moet Now or Neverland Party. My role at this event was a runner, and so I would adhere to any problems or questions guests may have had, and ensure that everything throughout the evening ran smoothly.
At the beginning of May 2016, I undertook a creative internship at the experiential marketing company, Wonderland Events. My role there included styling event themes, brainstorming and sourcing creative elements involved in the event itself, and creating proposals to pitch to the client. Along with many other events, I was involved in a 10 day event in France assisting with the logistic side of events. This allowed my knowledge on the production side to expand greatly.
Over the period of January 2016, I undertook a month of full-time unpaid work experience in London, for a company called Purple PR. Their services cover press relations, print and online editorial procurement, product placement, high profile event management, branding and marketing. I was based in the Fashion Department, where I would contribute towards the planning of Fashion Events. The main event I was involved in was The London Men's Collection (LCM).
This role involved the set up for Weddings, Christmas parties and conferences, then working throughout the duration of these events and lastly the breaking down of such events. On a few occasions I was tasked with meeting clients at their initial interest in the venue, where I would then put into place the client's demands and ensure all needs were achieved above expectations.
Whilst at University, I worked part time at Leeds First Direct Arena as events staff. I worked at some of the biggest events in 2015, such as; the 2015 MOBO Awards, the White Rose Awards, Virgin Team Conference, large-scale Concerts, Sporting Events and many more. My job role mainly involved working in Suites, where I was in charge of the setup, running and closure of boxes.
I studied Events Management at Leeds Beckett University from September 2015 to May 2016, where I achieved a 2:1 during my first year. I have since chosen to leave University to promptly start my career in the events industry.
