Textile & Surface DesignerLondon, United Kingdom
About me
I am a UK based textile and surface designer from Devon who loves to experiment using methods of screen and digital printing mixed with other processes. I will shortly be graduating with a BA (Hons) in Interior Textiles & Surface Design. I was recently shortlisted for the 'My Country Business Awards', and have collaborated on a successful commission for 'Art for Life'. I have a love for printed textiles, a feel for fabrics and a flare for colour. Beautiful materials, old traditions and new innovations are at the heart of my practice. I am currently available for freelance projects. CV & References available upon request.

  • Sustainabilitea
SustainabiliteaTodays economy overuses, destroys and to some extent overpowers nature. A fragment of understanding and believe in a sustainable future is essential as a designer. When visiting the Eden project the vegetation that draped from the ceilings inside the biomes, as well as the lucid and bubble like qualities of the architecture inspired me. These designs and Installation peice came from drawing from plants that have inspired flavours used in the tea world and tea production. Linked to consumptio
  • Thai Indigo
Thai IndigoAfter visiting Thailand, and staying in a traditional thai village I was inspired to create a number of designs inspired by the beautiful surroundings and culture. Weaving and therefore geometric pattern was at the heart of the community in many respects. This was a huge part of the women’s lives since weave and textiles gave them their livelihood. Final Samples include printed and manipulated designs which capture the essence of the jungle.
  • Dream Jars
Dream Jars Almost all of my most memorable novels are the more imaginative yet maturely written children’s books, written by the likes of Roald Dahl. The BFG, illustrated by Quentin Blake contains chapters of hugely descriptive text and therefore inspitartion in the form of words. Relating to my favourite parts of the book and descriptions within, I came up with a dreamy and quite abstact collection of textile designs. In the story, the jars filled with dreams seemed facinating and lead my to draw from specemin jars; an obscure and unusual subject matter.
