About me
I was born in Slovakia but I spent most of my life in the international city of Toronto. Living in a multicultural community has shaped me into an open-minded person with a passion for discovering various cultures and traditions. I am fluent in Slovak, Czech, Hungarian, English languages and I have a good command of German. My cultural background has endorsed my understanding of cross-continental traditions and prompted me to be innovative when examining and analyzing the trends and traditions around me. Living in London for a period longer than five years allowed me to take a full advantage of this city so uniquely compelled by diversity and inspiration.
Together with my editorial projects, I grew each and every day just to demonstrate my ability for curating and combining marketing ideas with arts and creativity. I am very confident that my extensive skills in arts and fashion will only greatly add to my capacity to develop in the professional world. My previous work for the Fashion Week in Berlin, Vienna and Bratislava, proved that I was capable to live up to professional standards of a freelance hair and make up artist. This was my first major professional project as a part of which I had the chance to work with the internationally renowned MAC & L’oreal team. While working on photo shoots, I have always been involved in the creative production, which resulted in my passion for art direction.
I have recently completed an art residency at the Galerie der Kunste in Berlin where I was provided a time of reflection, research, presentation and space for production. My move back to London has been positively challenged by a Masters degree at Central Saint Martins, where together with my editorial projects, I am demonstrating my ability for combining marketing ideas with communication design.
My strong passion in art direction and the production stage of editorials has driven me towards exploring the intriguing world of journalism and publishing by fully engaging with the topic I set out to explore. By holding a series of interviews with influential figures from the world of Socialist fashion, I analysed the archives of Communist-owned magazines and journals, which culminated into a published feature on the topic of Fashion Under Socialism. This was an in-depth analysis and synthesis of the material and visual world of the socialist bloc.
By gaining recognition with my publication and visual work, I engaged myself with Sixth Finger Magazine where I am currently working as an editor in chief, primarily carrying out interviews, and releasing editorial content in the fields of art, fashion, design, music and architecture. Sixth Finger Magazine enabled me to learn the necessary skills of online marketing, solid working knowledge of all social media platforms and their back-end systems by building an audience and creating a brand strategy along with a signature tone of voice.
By visualizing my initial purpose, I am trying to create a medium between trends that frustrate me but ultimately interest me.
