About me
I am a motivated and attentive individual with a key eye for detail and a passion for coordinating events from conception to execution. I’ve worked from as early as I was legally able to in various roles in the service industry from simple but essential preparation and cleaning roles to my current role as office manager for a popular Kent wedding venue and Glamping site. Currently, I am searching for a role centred around the customer experience, to guide clients from their initial meetings and viewings to establish the vision to overseeing the site preparation and coordination to bring the clients dream to reality. As office manager I have multiple years of experience in being the main point of contact to all existing wedding and events clients to being the first response for any new enquiries, guiding them through the process every step of the way. My current role is split in responsibilities between accounting and events management however my passion lies with events hence my venture to seek a role more focused in that relation.

    Office ManagerThe Dreys

Throughout my career at The Dreys I worked in a variety of roles from carrying out simple but essential cleaning and venue preparation, up to my current position as office manager selling events alongside client management and liaison. I have worked at over 200 events for The Dreys with roughly half of those being in an interim position providing support for the managerial team and bridging the gap between seasonal staff and the full time manager. Due to the venue being situated off-grid in a woodland the majority of the venue would have to be commissioned at the beginning of each season. For the past 4 years I played a key role in the set-up of the venue, moving truck loads of furniture from storage and distributing throughout as well as the erection and interior decoration of the 12 glamping bell tents at the venue. This annual experience taught me the fundamentals of what goes into the organisation of events. Even more so recently while working in the office to source thousands of pounds worth of furniture, props and equipment including marquee panelling, generator fuel, lighting and event matting to name a few. My current role at The Dreys began with a one year apprenticeship (extended due to COVID) to undertake my level 2 certificate in accounting, working with the director of the business and head of accounts. This new role included receiving, processing and filing of financial documents as well as reconciling purchase accounts and investigating any outlier transactions. Alongside my accounting responsibilities I ran the sale of events for The Dreys, being in constant liaison with over 50 clients from their initial viewing, creating relevant quotes and invoices to running planning meetings to establish the clients perfect day. From these planning meetings I would have gained contact with any external suppliers and arranged meetings and calls with those caterers, furniture suppliers, photographers etc to give them a timeline, site map and guidance on how they would set up for the event in question. In the spring of 2020 my role took on the very unexpected element of of postponing every 2020 client into 2021 due to COVID-19, producing masses of paperwork and supplier follow-ups all in a high pressure, time sensitive situation. Upon reflection, this was a valuable learning experience in dealing with circumstances no one could have foreseen.
