About me
Off the back of a brief rugby career based in New Zealand, by way of a short stint in a Michelin starred kitchen in London, I fell into post production and digital installations, and now I couldn't be happier that I'm here. Starting in the Framestore Commercials department as a Production Assistant, I loved the fast-paced nature of the job and the ability to truly test my technical knowledge and people skills on a daily basis. It was fantastic to work with some of the top talent in the industry: Daniel Kleinmann and Daniel Wolfe, for example. It became my aim to win as much work as I could for the department, which resulted in the acquisition of the Mario Testino post account, as well as several others. I then made the short jump over to Framestore's 'Labs' department, cutting my teeth on software development and large-scale installations. This gave me the opportunity to work more in the creative sphere, while getting more hands on with some of the hardware I was working with. During my time in the Labs department I have been working mostly direct to brand, often directly with CMOs of major companiesm such as IMAX, Tate Modern, Morgan Stanley and Ford. I have specialist knowledge in bespoke hardware and software design, which I have used to execute large-scale installations worldwide. Recently, in what little spare time I could find, I took on the role of VFX Producer for the low-budget feature film 'Hot Property', which headlined at this year's London Comedy Festival. In 2016 I made the move to start Framestore's 'Rides department' as they looked to move into the theme park industry. During my time here I have created the strategy and core goals for the department as well as defining work flows, budgets, schedules and driving marketing. After winning our first ride in 2016 we have gone onto secure an entire theme park (including six attractions) and an eighth attraction at the start of 2018. Much of Framestore's success in this industry has been based in China and as such I have had a crash course in the Chinese economy and business practices - it has certainly been interesting! During this period Framestore has also established itself a market presence and has driven to improve the quality of media in the industry. I stay active in my spare time enjoying annual skiing trips, frequently doing long distance obstacle races and playing cricket where my job allows. I love to explore the world and have spent extended periods of time in both China and India exploring the world's two largest emerging economies. In 2018 I embarked upon an Executive MBA partnering this alongside a full time job at Framestore. It has been a fantastic challenge to date and I have thrived in an academic business environment. I take my learnings with me in every day working life. Currently after the first semester I am on a distinction grade.
