Versatility is key in the work place and is something I pride myself in being very good at. When asked to carry out any task you should be either already able to do that job to a high ability or learn quickly how to do that task to your absolute optimum.
I throw myself in to anything that I do and am a stickler for perfection. A job is never done and there are always improvements to be made.
Over my thirteen years of employment at Vinyl Tap I have been entrusted with many different roles and aspects of the company from sales administration and office work to the buying of stock and stock control and each area has built my skills, expertise and knowledge.
In the last few years we have moved on to social media and email marketing campaigns and this was entrusted solely to me. I have developed Vinyl Tap's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+ and SoundCloud pages and I have designed, implemented and monitored email campaigns relating to new music releases, latest arrivals, upcoming releases, news, events and notifications. All have been very successful with twitter and facebook follows now in their thousands and email campaigns showing very good sales direct sales statistics. Now on top of this I have taken on the management of our in store events booking in bands such as Man Made, The Sherlocks, Wreckless Eric, Hooton Tennis Club and many more both local and national talents. It has seen huge growth, culminating in a visit from BBC Radio 6 Music who presented their show live from the store.
There is always room for improvement and I am constantly looking at new services and programs that may be available to me and keeping on top of all the latest social media developments. For instance integrating our eBay and Amazon stores making all of our stock available to view without leaving Facebook using the tabs at the top of the page.
I try to do everything to the absolute optimum level that I can. This includes things outside of work including my own music blog which has seen me be asked to write for a separate blog based in New York.
I constantly try to better my work. Perfection should always be an unreachable goal but one that one should always strive for.
Personally I am a huge Huddersfield Town supporter, now a premier league team! I collect vinyl records and love music both listening to at home and experiencing live. I live in Huddersfield with my fiance Holly and my son Murray.
Projects
- Vinyl Tap Events and DesignFlyer design, also the design used across brand for things like email headers, email signatures and the loyalty card scheme. Designed using online apps equivalent to photoshop. Note trust pilot, which I signed the company up to also, allowing us to use their stamp to show our reviews and instill trust in new customers. We rank in the top 10 of all categories we are listed in on Trust Pilot. This has converted to a higher conversion rate in sales on the website.

- Involved in the release of albums through the companies record label. Most actively involved in the release of both Goldheart Assembly albums on Vinyl plus the promotion and organisation of a launch event at the Belgrave Music Hall in Leeds.
- Management of in store events such as live music from bands such as Fold and Hooton Tennis Club plus events such as Record Store Day featuring local company participation such as music venue The Parish, local brewery Magic Rock and Huddersfield based coffee roasters Dark Woods. In charge of logistics, organisation and any marketing materials design and production. Converse with local press and websites to push events and the shop in general.
