About me
I am a creative, sociable and driven woman with expertise in digital software. As a feminist, I am passionate about promoting equality. I want to find a job that utilises my skills in creative media and/or one that drives my passion for achieving social justice. Whilst studying at university I was shocked. I was just about the only woman on my course. There were roughly 40 of us enrolled onto the Creative Music Technology course and luckily another lady joined us in the final year. Do you know that out of the 250 top films in 2019 only 6% of film composers were women and only 4% were sound editors? As you can imagine it was difficult to find these statistics online. Shortly after university I attended a professional training course for women looking to make a career in film and tv called ‘From Her Point of View’. It was fantastic to learn from women who shared the same experiences as me. It was very important to me because, as you probably know, women are massively underrepresented in the media industry. Having embraced several creative roles since graduating university I have developed my knowledge of software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Logic Pro X. Today I would describe myself as a Creative: I am a content creator, social media manager, website designer, film and media composer, sound editor and filmmaker. I have work experience in film directing, film editing, casting, photography and graphic design. I am fascinated by all ideations within the music, film and media industry. I love to learn and thrive in new environments.
Projects
  • 25 Days As A Refugee
25 Days As A RefugeeA short animation about the filmmaker's journey as a refugee to England via Calais, France. The film focuses on Rediat's stay for 25 days at the refugee camp or 'Jungle' in Calais, before she crossed the Channel as a stowaway. This film was made as part of the FIRST ACTS scheme for young filmmakers. I was honoured to have been asked to write the music for this inspiring project. Rediat is a very talented animator and filmmaker.
