London, United KingdomFull Time
I spend the majority of my time on the email marketing team, helping to build the email calendar with the promo and content team, briefing work from graphic design, building emails in HTML, uploading to Ometria (including testing) and reporting the results to the wider team. I spend the rest of my time working with the SEO and organic marketing team.
- Email marketing: collect contents and build emails. Writing HTML code and liaising with the design team to request graphics. I have worked with broadcast and automation newsletters. QA for all emails across 2 channels and 4 regions.
- Email reporting: reporting on subject line tests, disengaged users, and weekly and monthly metrics. Attending a weekly meeting with the lead team to communicate this and develop ways to adapt and change depending on the results. I use RJ metrics, Amplitude and Ometria’s inbuilt campaign performance and customer metric reports to do this.
- Keyword research: pulling data to determine where to focus the companies efforts for content creation. Training the content team to write SEO content for product and category descriptions as well as blog posts. I have also done research into the best ways to categorise the website for SEO purposes as well as competitor analysis. Research into potential scope for position zero content and where we can rank better for certain high performing, and high converting, keywords. I also have worked in link building to increase the domain authority of the site.
- Project Management: I project managed the SEO side of a recent acquisition helping to communicate and action the suggestions from an agency and align this with our own thoughts and ideas.

English Literature Creative WritingNewcastle University
- Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Achieved grade 2:1 with Hons.
I chose creative writing modules that allowed me to take inspiration from other artists. The manipulation of history, recreated in poetic form using my own voice, really interested me and taught me the importance of past art forms in the creation of new art.
English literature topics covered: Renaissance, 9/11 literature, post-colonial writing, minor literatures, migration and diaspora, film, theatre and performance, feminist literature.
I focused my literature modules on post-modern and post-colonial writing as well as literature surrounding trauma and the war on terror. The significance of real life and the image of ‘The Other’ in these literatures proved prominent to me and allowed me to more closely analyse the real stories behind the fiction. The story of the individual proves, especially in our modern day, increasingly essential set against a background of generalised global contemporary issues, such as current migration.
