Aimee writes cultural criticism and creative non-fiction. Her words appear on and in The Big Issue, Sydney Morning Herald, Daily Life, VICE, Little White Lies and more. In 2015, she was a Writer in Residence at the SA Writers Centre. The following year, she was chosen for the prestigious Critics Campus at Melbourne International Film Festival. Embedded in Adelaide’s arts landscape, Aimee has worked for the SA Writers Centre, Adelaide Film Festival, Mercury Cinema, The Media Resource Centre, Adelaide Festival of Arts, Adelaide Festival of Ideas and the Australian International Documentary Conference. Personally, Aimee values gender equality, sexual diversity, intersectionality and mental health. Dancing on stage with Bruce Springsteen didn't cure her anxiety, but it sure did help. Don't believe her? She's got pictures to prove it.Locked Pro Plan feature
Pitch. Write. File. Repeat. (By 'repeat', I mean 'invoice'.)
I created, implemented and revised our online marketing strategy, via social media platforms. I prepared weekly eDMs, and contributed to website and app development. Additionally, I wrote, proofread and edited our print and digital marketing guides.
Working to quick and strict deadlines, I wrote timely news items and features. Editing the Screen section, I crafted film and tech reviews while curating, editing and scheduling contributor content. Interviewing film industry figures was a highlight.
In a tight-knit, dedicated marketing team, I created and sustained the Festival’s distinctive online presence. I maintained the website, app and social media channels, wrote e-news items and blog entries, and created rich digital content.
