About me
Born and raised in London, I am a self-confessed notebook hoarder and admirer of ordered collections, with a keen interest in all things typographic, photographic and cinematic.
Projects
  • Royal Court Theatre: You For Me For You
Royal Court Theatre: You For Me For YouRoot worked with the Royal Court Theatre to produce a series of posters for their Autumn 2015 season. We were given the script for each play and then were required to come up with a conceptual visual which encapsulated it. I worked on Mia Chung’s ‘You For Me For You’, which follows the journey of two North Korean sisters Minhee and Junhee as they attempt to flee the Best Nation in the World across the border into South Korea. I produced a conceptual image and title type treatment featuring a fr
  • BASE
BASEAt the start of my final year of university, we were given the task to rebrand and decorate the new graphic design studio - my idea ended up being chosen by the year group to be implemented. My concept took inspiration from the Ancient Chinese Tangram - tangrams are complex puzzles that can take a variety of forms, but the pieces always fit back together to create a cohesive whole. As graphic designers we all have various specialities, styles and tastes, but we all experience struggles and all have the same aim of making it through to graduation in one piece. All of these qualities combined come together to make up the eclectic mix of people that make up the whole of our course. Base promotes a sense of camaraderie and collaboration as a space where students can go to work alongside fellow coursemates; to bounce ideas off, ask for advice, or simply for a chat to take their mind off the stresses of work. The theme of the tangram was used throughout the space and the idents are inspired by various objects in the room.
  • Opia
OpiaThe purpose of this short film is to highlight the dangers of the fast increasing advancements in technology, which seem to be further impinging on the public’s privacy with each new gadget. It is set in the near future where the government has implemented the installation of a new video game console, the Opia 2000, in all households; the nation, having become so accustomed to the presence of technology in their lives are unfazed by the introduction of a new gadget. What they are unaware of is that whenever they play a game on or interact with the console it is harvesting information about them which is fed directly to the government. Over time through the use of nanotechnology, the console has the ability to distort, implant and even erase memories; a method to retain control, sustain consumerism and sate the masses. The name of the console makes reference to the quote made by German philosopher and economist, Karl Marx, when he stated that “religion is the opium of the people”, used in this context to refer to the sedating effects of the console on the brain. As well as directing, filming and editing the film, I also designed and produced the brand and console itself, including all other props, both digital and physical. • Prospect Residential Brand Identity
Prospect Residential Brand IdentityThis was an idea for a rebrand of an estate agent that was included in the initial pitch to the client. The identity is reminiscent of a property floor plan, with the flexibility of the logo allowing it to take many different forms whilst still retaining its overall aesthetic within the four walls of the square.
  • Taylor Wimpey Print Advertisements
Taylor Wimpey Print AdvertisementsI produced two print advertisements showcasing a selection of Taylor Wimpey’s luxury developments; one for use in the Spring/Summer edition of an international magazine called 9fi5th Magazine, a luxury real estate publication based in Miami, New York, London and Dubai, and one for The Sunday Times newspaper. This included sending intial layouts to the client, developing layouts according to feedback, and then creating and delivering the final artwork.
  • Cartoon Network: The Amazing World of Gumball TV Spots
Cartoon Network: The Amazing World of Gumball TV SpotsRoot was briefed by Cartoon Network to produce a product template for a number of 20 and 30 second television spots and an accompanying print advertisement template that could be easily distributed across their international territories and manipulated to include the different products each specific territory was advertising. The television spots were based on the popular children’s shows Adventure Time and The Amazing World of Gumball. I was responsible for this project from initial idea generation and presentation to creating initial animatics and eventually animating most of the final spots in After Effects (all character animation created by Cartoon Network), including sourcing all character voiceovers, soundtrack, and arranging and overseeing voiceover sessions and soundmixes for a placeholder marketing message to be used as a guide at the end of each spot. Please note: All character designs are the property of Cartoon Network, and the retailer logos are placeholder only.

Work history
    Designer
     -
I was a full time designer at, multidisciplinary design and advertising agency, Root, for just over a year, collaborating with a small team of designers on a broad range of projects. Working with a number of varied clients both small and international ranging from the property to entertainment sectors, I have experience in idea generation and development, client liaison, copywriting and artwork preparation, working on projects spanning branding, print (including both large and small scale, from property hoardings to brochures) and digital design. The agency is small but has a strong core team of designers; due to the smaller size of the agency, we were required to handle all aspects of the projects we were working on - from generating initial ideas and pitch presentations, to creating final artwork and liaising with printers.
