  • Remembering Place
Remembering PlaceRemembering Place is a project taking it’s form as a series of screenprints. The series aims to capture the experieced memory of specific places in a visual form, using colour and line to lead the eye. The forms were created to mimic a feeling of spacial awareness, leaving interpretation open in the simplified and abstracted forms.
Work history
    Senior Sales Assistant
As a senior sales assistant for Whistles my main duties and responsibilities include various administrative and operational tasks such as screening CV's for new potential employee's, keeping track of weekly sales figures, keeping up to date with any important correspondence from other stores, head office, customer services or our area manager via phone and email, processing transactions in a quick and efficient manor, keeping track of any deliveries coming in or out of the shop, unloading, steaming and putting away deliveries, replenishing stock throughout the day and keeping the shop floor and stockroom clean and tidy at all times. This role has also enabled me to develop more creative skills in various ways such as being part of the visual merchandise of the store; this includes re-merching the shop floor every week including external and internal mannequins in accordance with the visual merchandise guidelines sent through from head office, whilst also reflecting our own bestsellers and new products. I have also had the opportunity to help organise in-store events, from the initial planning and logistics to being part of the events whilst they are taking place. We also offer a bespoke styling service in-store for all customers, this has allowed me to feel confident in decision making and give customers the advice they need giving them initiative outfit options, and showing my knowledge for the products. Special responsibilities that I undertake as part of this role include doing a weekly visit to our concession at John Lewis, this is in order to support the Whistles team there and to insure they have everything they need. Duties include doing a floor walk to check visual merchandise standards, checking the stockroom, and going through weekly figures.
    Creative Intern
     -
Being an intern at Hanmi Gallery enabled me to have a vast amount of creative responsibility alongside the other interns to effectively contribute to the successful running of the Gallery. Duties and tasks were varied and ranged from administrative tasks such as keeping up with important correspondence via email; checking the Gallery Directors schedule and reminding her of any upcoming meetings and events; creating relevant guest lists for upcoming events and exhibitions; sending out invitations; screening CV's for potential candidates; researching new Artists; applying for upcoming Art fairs; keeping the online database well organised, editing and updating the Gallery website. Throughout my time at Hanmi Gallery I was part of a myriad of Exhibitions, Art Fairs and events, enabling me to have a informed dialogue with both the general public and collectors, curators and other members of the Art world about the relevant exhibition, Artist or conceptual notions surrounding the specific work. I was part of the preliminary part of the events which included liaising with Artists, Art shippers, Event organisers and Curators; creating the content of any leaflets posters or Artist information as well as helping with the design; creating mock-up exhibition displays on Sketch-up and generally making sure everything was on schedule for the event. Working for Hanmi Gallery enabled me to work very closely with other creative’s to meet crucial deadlines and thrive on individual tasking. As interns we were entrusted with the general running of the gallery when the Gallery Director went away on business, this was a lot of responsibility and we were in close contact with the Korean interns, where the sister gallery was located in order to help them plan and prepare for any events they may have on whilst we were quiet.
