I was approached by my university mentor on an opportunity to aid a design studio in the creation of a journal for the NuART festival 2018. I had 5 days to create the journal, which accumulated over 140 pages of content to manage and layout. I managed to do this and to also shorten the number of pages used with the layout I established. Because of this Bergini was able to save money on print and binding costs which enabled them to further push the journal by including a gloss segment within to showcase imagery, that would have not been possible had I not reduced the expected page number drastically. Through this, I learned about the importance of being cost-effective and how to converse with the client effectively via email to achieve their vision of their desired product. I also found myself comfortable whilst working under pressure and within a tight deadline and how to prioritise tasks to complete my job in a timely manner.

I was approached to collaborate with Public with a think piece regarding a brief to rebrand the NHS from a bland, cold and distant visual identity to a softer, more approachable one. My time with Public was short but impactful on my understanding of how important a brand can be. I learned a lot via experimenting, conversing and suggesting ideas(to their live briefs) on how to push an identity forward, whether it's stemming from the context behind ideas or the most logical and economical way of pushing an idea through into reality. The result was a re-imagining of what the NHS could be, by celebrating the local area and utilising a popular form of a graphical object (a versatile frame.) It was also a great introduction in the process of how to approach a project, a pitch, and the ethical and economical aspects of design.
