About me
Hello everyone! My name is Alesandra. Currently working under the name badgrandpa I’m a Peruvian motion graphics videographer finishing my final year at Central Saint Martins University. My creative practice at the moment is based on juxtaposition and the creation of alternative experiences for my audience. I work a lot with technology, exploring the limits of interactivity, 3D animation, Virtual and Augmented Reality. My interests lay in the limbo of technology and filmmaking; exploring how these two practices merge is what I would consider the core of my practice. I am fascinated by the screen and how contemporary videographers and designers are using data and code as their new medium. I find inspiration in the bus driver, in orchids, the rubbish on the street at 3am… I am constantly on the lookout for little things that trigger feelings and thoughts. My inspiration changes regularly allowing me to come up with new ideas and concepts for my work. I look up to conceptual artists very much. Great minds such as Nam June Paik and Bruce Nauman remind me every day that there is always something original out there, there is always something unique to you. Conceptual artists also inspire me to use technology; in the 70’s it was television and neon lights, now it’s code and virtual reality

Working with the P+E department, thoroughly research and identify areas of Mario Testino’s archive that could be used to add interactive layers to the visitor experience at future Mario Testino exhibitions. Bringing in experience in VR and AR, supporting on feasibility and helping to develop creative ideas during the research stage, the goal is to work towards 4 hypothetical scenarios that allow visitors to see more of the story and working process behind Mario Testino’s work, through engaging and interactive experiences. Actively harvest ideas and inspiration from within and outside the art world, that can be applied to the development of future projects.

Globally, Solo living is on the rise as people are unwilling to settle for the ‘wrong person/people’ and the sense of freedom offered by living on your own can offer a number of important benefits This initial piece of immersion is a pilot exercise that should provide us with a selection of immersive 360 footage which Badgrandpa (Alesandra Miro Quesada) will be able to edit into a short promotional video to accompany a written article to be shared with both existing and potential clients. The final edit will combine 360 and ‘flat’ footage, but we will aim for a 75/25 split (360/flat)
