After being told at my first agency that I'm not 'creative', I'm proud to say I now write & direct branded content, and have done it for the likes of Facebook, Rude Health and Simba (The mattress company, not Mufasa's son) I'm also part of Mid-Brow, a sketch comedy duo, with the late Tom Blackwood. He’s not dead, he’s just notoriously bad at time-keeping. We performed at The Pleasance and won Best New Sketch Act. Once we were back, we started turning our sketches into comedy shorts. Salon are an award-winning production company who specialise in feature films & documentaries. Their latest film about Alexander McQueen is in cinemas on June 8th. I've been hired to set-up their branded content division.
After writing several online explainer films for their clients Dax & The Foundry, Trigger also asked me to write theirs. I wrote their white paper, 'The Future of Content' which was released for their annual networking event.
I was part of CMN's fantastic mentoring programme aiming to get more diversity in the media industry. I mentored a student from St. Bons in Forest Gate and still work with the school today, giving talks to sixth formers on how to break into the media & advertising world.
I'm part of comedy duo Mid-Brow. We won SketchFest's Best New Sketch Act & appeared twice at the Edinburgh Fringe. We've spent the past year focusing on comedy shorts, with our last film 'Bad News' appearing at the BFI & BAFTA, trending on Reddit as well as getting Vimeo Staff Pick. It also screened on Al Jazeera's news channel. We're currently in development on a sitcom and a short-form web series.
