Responsible and accountable for the design, development, delivery and support for a huge range of Digital Applications and IT Services, both internal and external user facing.
Responsible for the Agile Delivery of a brand new Digital Service for one of Defra's Delivery Bodies, the Animal & Plant Health Agency (APHA). This included managing a mixed team of contractors and in-house software Developers, Testers and UR specialists and budget of £800k.
Jointly-responsible for setting and helping implement the Department's Digital Strategy. This included achieving buy-in from Senior Stakeholders, identifying skills gaps and developing a plan to enhance these, and articulating the governance measures required to help the Dept. meet the demands for a the Government's Digital Agenda.
Head of Service Management for Defra ICT, with responsibility for ensuring availability, capacity, resilience and security for ICT Services provided to the Department and a number of smaller Delivery Bodies. Responsibilities included managing a mixed team of Service Managers and Account Management for a major outsourced IT Service Provider.
Jointly responsible for setting the ICT Strategy for the Department and identifying new and emerging business requirements. The role included horizon scanning for 2, 5 and 10 years, and planning and implementing an annual round of conversational engagement sessions with Senior Leaders to capture their evolving user needs over the next 2 - 5 year cycle.
Responsible for the successful delivery of the major ICT Project to update and upgrade infrastructure and desktop IT of the Department's London HQ. This included managing a team of contractors and budget of £1 million as well as communications and Stakeholder Management..
Change Lead on a major internal programme to bring together two discreet ICT delivery functions of over 200 staff into a single, unified team. Role included planning and implementing comms, Stakeholder Management, Event Planning and Management and supporting staff through Change.
Business Relationship Manager in ICT with responsibility for working with users and business owners to listen to their priorities, capture their needs and reflect these back to the ICT delivery functions. I also translated complex ICT messages in a language the business could understand so that a healthy partnership could be established, rather than the previous 'us and them' opposition.

Responsible for writing editorial narrative and selecting photography for an extensive catalogue of hardcopy and digital images at a major Photography Agency based in London. Role included setting up shoots, liaising with photographers (including some household names), following news stories, journalism and planning editorial strategy.
