Approached by investors to head up a new multimedia company focused on specific sectors, I presented a feasible business plan and growth strategy to them that solidified their intent and investment. The company focused on new media, particularly video and website production, and my role encompassed everything from new business acquisition and marketing to film editing and website design and coding myself.
Worked in the energy division on the flagship event, Gastech, a 400-exhibitor, 10,000-visitor conference and expo that travels round the world. I was in sole charge of organising new show-floor content: launching and managing exhibition-floor seminars. This included programming and coordinating 75 speaking sessions in two theatres; liaising with speakers, partners & sponsors; writing and designing relevant publicity and printed material; and training and organising a team of staff on-site. I also edited and created content for the show overall, researching and writing industry articles for magazines, designing emails, writing press releases and designing a new website and editorial expansion strategy. Finally, I was also a point of contact for our partners, and helped pitch sponsorship and partner opportunities and negotiate contracts.
