• The role was highly responsible and covers all areas of knitwear and swimwear design.
• Responsible for trend research and competitor research.
• Development of yarn sourcing and stitch development
• Colour submits, liaise with factories to achieve submits in correct yarn and gauge, whilst following with lab dips approvals.
• Attend fits twice weekly, with senior designer and alone.
• Create and build design sheets / technical packs using illustrator and PLM.
• Responsible for amendments of technical packs, following fits and ensuring that this is then relayed effectively to the factory.
• Presentation of product for selection.
• The ability to work extremely closely and professionally with my senior knitwear designer, buyers and merchandisers, tech and print designers.
• Responsible for building strong and valuable relationships with factories in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Italy and Turkey.
• Daily communication with the factories insures that commerciality is maintained and we deliver an on brand product, representative of Joules.
