As a street star I work to promote Capital, Heart and Smooth FM as part of the street marketing team. As a team we engage with the public with enthusiasm and energy at events around the West Midlands encouraging them to listen to the station and get involved with the events we are running. Whilst at events we must ensure that we follow briefs and exceed set targets in an allocated time. This role has enabled me to develop my communication skills in a fast paced environment and adapt to the different audiences of each of the three stations to reflect their brand effectively.
This was a three month cultural exchange program working at a theme park in America. During this program I utilised my customer service skills to deliver a high quality experience for visiting guests and ensured that the rides ran safely and efficiently. This allowed me to develop my communications skills and adaptability to work and live in a different country.
As an audience manager I worked on shows such as The X Factor and Big Brother. This role consisted of liaising with the production team to ensure how many audience members were needed and that they were bought to the set on time so that the television recordings ran smoothly. This role required excellent communication skills as we were regularly dealing with members of the public and had to be able to respond to queries in a professional yet friendly manner. I also had to keep calm under pressure, particularly when we would have to turn away hundreds of guests from a recording due to the venue reaching capacity.
Whilst studying I had a part time job working along side a team at a launderette to ensure that it ran efficiently by operating machinery, ensuring customer satisfaction, processing payments and giving feed back to the manager. I also help with training new employees offering guidance and advice. During working at the launderette I learnt to work with a team and to a deadline and gained excellent customer service skills from working with many different people
