  • Power, Subjectivity and Objectivity: The Black Woman
Power, Subjectivity and Objectivity: The Black WomanA short photo series depicting the Black woman authentically and unapologetically. My course is half theory and half production. Since starting my course I have written academic essays on the Black existence in the West, and I've directed and produced films and photography pieces on similar topics. Through my academic work I have studied the agency of Black people in Western neo-liberal societies, racism in British media, coming of age cinema from a Black perspective etc. Moreover, in my practical work I have directed and produced short films and photography shoots covering themes such as migration and refugee displacement, discourse around Black women feminism, sexual liberation etc.
