Work history

Set Design & Studio Intern

Darling and Edge Ltd

Jun 2015 - Sep 2015
  • I gained experience in every aspect of the business from initial design to the install of the event. Skills I have learned include pitching, finance, design drawing, sourcing, fabrication, client liaison, event management and marketing. I have advance my skill set in set construction from assisting the carpenter and designers during the install. During the install of events, I have assisted the carpenter in every part of set construction for projects such as set design/construction for an immersive dining experience company, Gingerline and the reconstruction of a caravan converted into a large-scale snail shell sculpture for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. I have also painted signs for a wedding, installed two one-night events and built a dollhouse piano-conversion for the Canary Wharf Pianos.

BFI Youth Juror

BFI Southbank

Aug 2014 - Sep 2014
  • I was chosen to be a part of the Youth Jury Project with the BFI London Film Festival. With a group of other young jurors, we will discuss and select the winning nominated First Feature for the 2014 Sutherland Award for the Most Original and Most Imaginative Directorial Debut. During the program in a period of four weeks, we will watch 12 nominated films, engage in critical discussions of each film and in the end decide as a group jury which film deserves the Sutherland Award for 2014's BFI London Film Festival.

Artist Liaison & Artist Assistant

Jul 2014 - Jul 2014
  • I was an Artist Assistant for Marlon Griffth, producing the Hummingbird Shield costumes for his performance project No Black in the Union Jack in the Up Hill Down Hall Project event at Tate Modern which took place on the 23 of August 2014. During the event and rehearsals, I was an Artist Liaison. My responsibilities included helping out with the event management team in a fast-paced and high pressured environment by tending to the performers and co-ordinating their duties. I was also involved in the transport, handling, and cleaning of the shield costumes for Marlon Griffith's performers during and before the event and was a performer by carrying one of the stereos, following the costume performers in order to provide the sound system in the performance march across the Millenium Bridge in London. I collaborated in a group project with other Central Saint Martin's College students called The Sky is Dancing. Our project took place on the 23 of August during the Up Hill Down Hall event at the Tate Modern after No Black in the Union Jack performance by Marlon Griffith and before Give and Take performance by Hew Locke. The Sky is Dancing was made up of paper helicopters that fell down from a high bridge in the Turbine Hall of Tate. Each helicopter contained a design by one of the collaborators and had a website link or QR code to the website. Each artist had his or her own page that explained further about the design and of each artist's personal project: My personal project linked with The Sky is Dancing is What's Your Tribe. There is a twitter page, Painted Status: What's Your Tribe that expanded from the performance Tribal Imposition.
