About me
Ali Ismail is an aspiring videographer and content creator from North-West London.
His interest in film began while growing up watching classic horror films such as John Carpenter's Halloween, The Shining and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, where he developed a fascination for cinematography, use of colours and the ability of story-telling with a slow build-up of suspense and tension.
Ali's love for the creative industry flourished while studying Media and Photography, taking a shine to content creation and working behind the camera. Since then, he has gone on to create a range of content across various media platforms; including a short film, advertisements, promotional videos, magazine covers and photography portfolios.
In April 2018, Ali took part in a Digital Advertising traineeship with The Prince's Trust, where he collaborated with industry professionals and other young creatives to create an advert for a magician. During this time, Ali further developed his creative skills, gaining experience in all areas of the production process; including scripting, location scouting, directing, filming, sound and editing.
Shortly after, he participated in the Creativity Works: Multimedia Genius Training with Media Trust to further work on his artistry and expand his skill set across different sectors of the media industry, as he also has an interest in photography and advertising.
Ali got his first role in filmmaking during a workshop with The Screen Community, where he worked as a production assistant during the making of a five-minute short film.
After deciding he was interested in videography and content creation, Ali did an internship with Iconic Steps, where he worked on a promotional video for hair accessory brand, O So Curly.
Working in such creative environments as part of a team has allowed him to think creatively and become more open-minded, experiencing new ideas and stepping out of my comfort zone to create effective content.
In the future, Ali aspires to be a videographer and content creator, working with clients and brands to help achieve their goals and effectively target audiences.
