About me

Hello. I am a friendly and super flexible graphic designer, illustrator and creative director based in South East London. I have over 20 years experience in the creative design process, working both on and offline and with a hugely diverse range of clients. Work. In the past I have worked in house at all levels from designer to design director at a number of London agencies, winning numerous awards. For the past 13 years have worked for myself in a freelance capacity, from my home, and more recently have created a little company of two with my husband, also a designer, so as to open up new creative opportunities at Mr & Mrs Peate Limited. Experience. I have taken the creative lead on a huge range of design projects in my career, most of which have had their beginnings in online communications. These diverse projects include branding and logo design, marketing campaigns, corporate communications, user interface and usability, cross platform user experience, infographics and illustration. I have an extensive knowledge of the design process as a whole, and am highly skilled in the areas of typography, brand communication and design for all online environments. More importantly, I am friendly, flexible and honest and am passionate about helping all of my clients deliver highly creative and business focussed communications across all of their brand channels. Not design. Outside of my design work, I love to paint and draw. I have a deep and ongoing fascination with the visual relationship between order and chaos, science and fuzzy logic and explore these ideas in my paintings using colour and shape. NydeOverview Nyde is all about your home. My involvement Taking the creative lead on this project, I was responsible for all aspects of the Nyde visual design and identity. This included working on the initial branding and tone of voice, communication strategy and visual language, right through the user experience to graphical and interface design across all platforms. I've been busy. And I am quite rightly super proud of my work. And really excited to have been involved at every step of the Nyde journey. National GridOverview National Grid is an international electricity and gas company based in the UK and northeastern US. It plays a vital role in connecting millions of people safely, reliably and efficiently to the energy they need. It’s also one of the first places journalists contact when they require information about stories breaking in the UK which affect our energy consumption. My involvement We have been responsible for the illustration and design of a huge and varied series of infographics, for use across various social media platforms, working in collaboration with the wonderful peeps over at Fabrik. JA on F1Overview James Allen is one of the most experienced and insightful broadcasters and journalists working in Formula 1 today. He is currently the F1 correspondent for BBC Radio 5 Live and is the network’s lead F1 commentator. My involvement I have worked closely with James on the design and creative direction on the JA on F1 project, his industry leading website, since its beginnings in 2010. I have also been involved in the design and art working of a number of his highly acclaimed end of season reviews.
