I am a recent graduate from Southampton Solent with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Film and Television. I am also a very keen gardener and I am currently using a blog website to provide information and images about the various plants I am currently growing.
I am currently acting as an At Home Consultant for The Body Shop at home where I am selling products both online and at parties.
Currently overseeing the running of a Sainsbury's Local Store during the absence of store management. Therefore I will be responsible for ensuring every area of the store, such as replenishment of stock and the training of colleagues, have been carried out properly as well as ensuring excellent customer service is being carried out by myself and my colleagues. I am also responsible for ensuring cash management procedures are being carried out to the regulations and procedures laid out my Sainsbury's.
I was the camera operator, lighting co-ordinator and editor for a Popular Music student's example pieces of his work.
As a Christmas Customer Sales Assistant I was mainly based upon the shop floor in which I was required to work within the fitting rooms, checkouts, Christmas Food section and the various departments upon the shop floor such as health and beauty, lingerie and food. Within this role I had to ensure the shop floor was maintained to company standards whilst providing excellent customer service.
I acted as a camera assistant and sound operator for this film which was an assignment for the second year BA (Hons) Performing Arts course. I also acted as an assistant editor for this project.
Within this role I was mainly based upon the shop floor, regularly operating between the checkouts, changing rooms and department sections as well as occasional given additional responsibilities to help run various departments. For this role I had to ensure I had excellent communication skills with the customers as well as the staff. This allowed me to build upon my communication skills as well as to learn how to quickly learn and retain new production information.
I was the editor and colourist for a 20 minute film which a group of performing arts students had created for their Final Major Project titled 'Trepidation'.
I acted as a director and vision mixer for a demonstration of the television studio within one of Southampton Solent University's studios for BA (Hons) Media Culture and Production students. Within this role I was in charge of guiding and directing the positioning of the cameras and presenters, timings of the recordings and rehearsals we practised, offered autocue guidance to the students who came in for the demonstration and I created as well as controlled the green screen segments. I also provided training and demonstrations of the equipment within the studio to the Media Culture and Production students on the vision mixing desk, cameras, sound mixing desk, VT systems, operation of the auto-cue machine and the lighting systems.
My main role has been to help out at open days showing prospective students around the Southampton Solent campus and helping to provide film and television studio demonstrations of the different facilities such as how green screen works, the variety of cameras available to use as well as the different lighting, sound and editing equipment available to use at the university.
My main role has been to work on the bars at festivals and concerts events serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers. I have also acted as a waitress and prepared food under the supervision of a chef for food stalls at festival events, as well as acted as a supervisor whilst the manager of the stall has been vacant. I have also been required to regularly handle cash at these events and handle any enquirers put to me by the customers and staff.
Within this role I was mainly based upon the checkouts serving the customers which also provided me with regular cash-handling experience, I was also required to replenish the shelves upon the shop floor and helped with reconciling the tills at the end of the day. As time progressed I gained training and fulfilled the role of a cover supervisor as well as continuing with the duties I had already been doing previously. In November 2010 the store went through a refurbishment which involved changing the store from a Somerfield format to a Co-operative food format. During this period I assisted with the replenishment of the store prior to reopening, I was also able to easily and quickly adapt to the new checkout systems which were installed as well as the self-service checkouts which had been introduced.
A practical and theoretical degree.
