This new role has seen me create and implement strategy in a company of 80 staff that had no previous marketing function. Key achievements within role: Creating the entire marketing infrastructure for the company, moving from an ad-hoc to a disciplined approach, including devising annual marketing plans, implementing new processes and harnessing budgets Management of industry awards calendar and entries resulting in a record 15 wins and 25 shortlists over a two year period (more than the business had ever won in the previous 18 years combined) Proactively secured contra-deal opportunity with a high profile trade event, negotiated a VIP sponsorship package in return for video production support – the monetary value of the sponsorship was £15,000 whilst spending only £2,000 in internal costs Raising brand awareness and the profile of C-level executives through achieving regular PR-driven coverage in target media; the most recent opinion piece secured on behalf of my CEO resulted in 10 direct enquires and 50% spike to company website visits Primary duties and responsibilities: Strategy and development: Working closely with the senior management teams to devise the marketing strategy and aligning it with the general business plan as well as evaluating the ROI from marketing output Developing the marketing tactics for three companies; each with their own markets, products, customer base and sales processes requiring its own plan and approach whilst maintaining the overarching group identity and cohesion Delivery of all marketing output: Sales collateral: industry reports, brochures, videos, presentations and proposal documents Digital marketing: monthly email shots, social media management, online content such as blogs and infographics, SEO and PPC management for three websites, CRM management Awards: management of awards calendar and entries from first drafts to ceremony Commercial opportunities: negotiation of sponsorships, contra-deals and advertising Communications: writing press releases, securing coverage in industry publications, direct mail Events: co-ordinating monthly client events and researching potential networking opportunities Internal communications: producing weekly industry and company news bulletins for all employees Effectively influencing internal stakeholders: Creating a change in work culture so that marketing is perceived as a valuable resource for sales teams as well as managing support staff so projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard Proactively requested attendance at board meetings to ensure that marketing is a point of focus, identify new opportunities at an early point and report on business impact
