About me
My name is Alicia (Yes! Like "The Good Wife"!), but everybody calls me Ali. I’m an architect-designer-illustrator (I should invent a word for that) living in Madrid for the time being, but hopefully not for long. The world awaits! I have my B.Arch + M.Arch in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid along with a landscape specialization. I studied a one year course in Fashion Illustration and Design at Universität der Künst in Berlin (UDK), and in jewelry in Berlin too. Currently I’m finishing an specialization on Game Design by the California University of Arts (Calarts) through Coursera. I work as an architect and as an independent designer and illustrator. As an architect I’ve worked on theme park design and entertainment architecture along with retail and exhibition space design. As a freelancer I take on a variety of projects; everything from illustration, book covers, surface pattern design, stationery, branding, packaging, image retouching and whatever a client has in mind. I consider myself a freak of online courses (Skillshare, Treehouse, Coursera…) I just never have enough of them! And I’m definitely a Pinterest Jedi! I spend more time than you could imagine surfing around the web in search of new inspiration. I don’t have just one dream job, I would devote myself to anything creatively-driven: creating sets in the film industry, designing board games, working as landscape architect or interior designer at a company, keep freelancing as an illustrator or developing my love for textiles in a studio (just to name a few!).

BerGlin - Landscape ArchitectureIntervention at Mehring Platz in Berlin (Germany). In the city of the bike, the idea is to create a topography that counterbalances the flatness of the city. Friedrichstrasse starts and ends in Mehring Platz, but tourists never get to it. In one of the most popular streets in Berlin, tourist and berliners have a walk, shop, but never reach the end of this popular street. Let's give Friedrichstrasse the start it deserves, to remind people in Berlin that MehringPlatz is where everything beggi

  • #PorElDerechoATecho - Poster Design
#PorElDerechoATecho - Poster DesignI was commissioned an illustration for "The Right to a Home" demonstration held in Madrid on April 2015. The idea was simple, two hands that act as a "house" for everybody. It had to be a simple illustration that included many types of people. The style needed to be relaxed and "happy" in some way, to attract all kinds of people to the demonstration. The final poster was hanged throughout the city of Madrid and it appeared all over the media. There was a slight variation in color with the initial illustration and the final poster. The poster was initially planned in red. However, the red had to be changed to green because this green had symbolized the continuous fight of all the neighborhoods’ associations for the past years. So it was really necessary to make this green appear in the final posters.
