Assisting freelance stylist on variety of shoots for commercial clients such as Virgin Active. Responsibilities include checking inventory, completing returns, booking appointments and maintenance of the fashion cupboard. Additional duties include steaming and caring for garments and assisting in meetings with high-profile clients.
Initially employed as an intern, this role developed into a permanent position. Duties included styling weekly “Shop My Look” newsletters, assisting on shoots used for marketing of the multi-brand website and copywriting for the website, including styling advice. A good understanding of both brands and customers were required as I also assisted in tasks such as visual merchandising of Member Only sales and customer service calls over busy periods. Additional responsibilities assigned to me included organizing and styling at a fashion show to promote both website and brands and calling in press samples for events and photo shoots.
Assisting stylist Karl Plewka on a Rollacoaster Magazine editorial, shot by Donald Christie. This menswear shoot required me to liaise with PRs for call ins and returns, assist on the shoot including dressing models, steaming clothing and assisting the stylist on set. Additional duties included studio organisation of studio and credits.
In this internship I assisted the stylists working on e-commerce shoots for high-street brands such as M&S and TU at Sainsburys. Typical duties included unpacking and steaming garments, assisting on shoots- on model, still life and mannequin styling- and keeping studio organised. I worked independently on an e-commerce shoot for Weird Fish’s menswear shoot directly with the photographer and model.
Together with a partner, I founded Want Me Wear Me- a fashion e-commerce business, stocking international designer dresses for rent. I ran all aspects of the business, which included attending buyer’s meetings in Paris and Milan, developing the website and launching the concept to market. I styled all e-commerce images as well as editorial images for the site; this included sourcing models, hair and make up, calling in accessories and shoes and working in the studio with the photographer and model. I was involved in the day to day running of the business that included customer service, organising deliveries, marketing and social media activities.
