  • THE MAN
THE MANA video shot using a Bolex film camera that required us to use a film langauge word to inspire us to make a film. We chose the word ‘Diegesis’, which is a form of fiction storytelling which presents an interior view of a world and is: that world itself experienced by the characters in situations and events of the narrative. We decided to tell a metaphoric story of a man, who seems normal on the surface but gradually struggles to come to terms with everyday life and the increasing drone that so
  • THE CROW
THE CROWA vidoe made in collaboration with classmates for the Sony Music Bug competition for the band Hurts, we decided to choose the song ‘The Crow’. It was the longest track and gave us a very slow build up to work with. The song is about the protagonist losing touch with his loved one. But cannot seem to let her go. She has a hold on him. We decided to focus on the idea of how memory takes a toll on oneself, and to focus on the afterthought of objects. We used a combination of macro-lensed filming, green screen and after effects. The up-close filming helped to convey the intensity of the memories of being so close to your thoughts. After effects and green screen was used to show the “melting memories embedded in the objects. We wanted to convey a sentimental idea with a cold, and surreal look to the video. We collected pre-loved objects and spray-painted them white to give an overall ethereal look, a landscape of objects to represent the detached and melancholic quality of of the song. -Top 6 Finalists for Sony Bug Music Video competition for band 'Hurts'.
  • NOSTALGIA FOR FANTASY
NOSTALGIA FOR FANTASYA video consisting of a culmination of many vignettes of  “discoveries” of light in darker periods of time, with some of my old footages from road trips along malaysian highways, Victorian houses and windows in London, air streaks and airplane lights flashing at night; and found footages from the internet of people recording “lights” appearing in the sky, old mansions in the dark and seedy nightclub lights illuminating fake palm trees. Perhaps it is areconciliation of my childhood memories of growing up at my grandmother’s isolated estate, looking at houses in the dark and looking for escape in the night sky; for the comfort of the hazy darkness and the yearning for the expanding dizziness of brightness. -exhibited at PUSHxSingapore Day 2014 showcase of 11 Upcoming Singaporean Artists, London, UK.
