Senior Events Manager (Head of the Events Department role & responsibilities)
• Build, promote and maintain the strategy of the Events Department, per the company’s global strategy
• Manage the calendar of internal events (between 5 and 15 events per week in the Digital Catapult Centre)
• Conceptualise, organise and support the delivery of external events:
➢ Smart Factory Expo – Nov 2017 & 2018 - Liverpool: Digital Catapult Stand and Hack and Pitch for RS component, Unilever, BOC & Thales
➢ 4th Industrial Revolution Summit – Feb 2018 – Manchester: Hack and Pitch for Rolls Royce and Unilever
➢ Farnborough International Airshow – July 2018 – Farnborough: 18sqm stand & speaking opportunities
• Work on events across the network of Digital Catapult partners, in Brighton, the North East and Northern Ireland
• Mentor, lead and oversee 6 people (hiring of 5 people since January) to ensure continual career development, enhancement of skills and increased quality of the events portfolio
• Act as a project manager in a multifunctional project team responsible for planning and executing the event strategy in a timely manner
• Support, drive and advise other departments on best event strategy and means to achieve business goals
• Created and maintain the Events Purpose and Outcomes measurement and Tracker tool to ensure the success of the Department Strategy and the achievement of fixed objectives
• Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to establish new events and the overall strategy for growth, and ensure the delivery of contracts and agreements with event sponsors and clients
• Work as events interface to the BD team on events and lead generation cross industries, including Digital Manufacturing in the construction, defence and aerospace sectors.
• Oversee event project tasks including kick off meetings, project plans, budgets, timelines and reporting
• Management of external partners such as key sponsors and event partners (including the implementation of Live streaming)
• Lead marketing requirements and work with marketing team to promote Digital Catapult events (including the implementation of Live streaming)
