  • Being a small startup, a lot of responsibilities fall onto my lap, which include branding the site, moderating it's users and products, managing its PR and also constantly planning the social media to keep the conversation going. I am a lover of all thing's beauty related, so focusing my time on ensuring customers get the best possible experience on my site came naturally to me. As I find exploring and researching new products and trends to be one of my many hobbies, I found this to be very helpful in managing the site. Most products that I featured on the front page sell almost immediately, and with a little help of social media and having the same language as my customers, I keep the conversation and interests levels high.

  • The job role was a mesh between two departments. One of which was Sourcing, which required me to source potential suppliers for the upcoming seasons and for the buyers of the company. I often liaised with suppliers on a day to day basis to ensure they are on target with delivery dates and rates, whilst monitoring their performance and reporting back to senior staff. Additionally, I worked within the Ethical department which required me to analyse audit reports and attend conferencing regarding empowering sustainable and ethical supply chains.

  • On a day to day basis, I was required to finalise buyer's orders for suppliers using an IT system "Merret". I was also required to create purchase orders and style codes for the website, and to constantly use Excel to manage planning of this.
