About me
I’m an award-winning freelance travel writer for publications including National Geographic Traveller magazine, a UK title for which I also worked as an in-house editor for three years. My professional adventures have taken me to curious corners of the planet, from the Mayan temples of southern Mexico and living root bridges of Meghalaya to the nightclubs of Miami and the shores of Lake Malawi. I specialise in adventure, wildlife and solo travel, and have in-depth knowledge of South America, India and Southern Africa — areas of the world I return to time and time again. Significant projects to date include the National Geographic Traveller October 2018 cover story on Indian wildlife, for which I penned tales of snow leopards in Ladakh, Bengal tigers in Rajasthan and one-horned rhinos in Assam, and South Africa Tourism’s 2019 campaign, ‘Meet your South Africa’, which included some 12 interviews and five first-person features based on encounters across six states. Previous roles of mine include assistant editor for National Geographic Traveller, assistant editor for ABTA Magazine and, during a year living and working in Chile, news reporter for The Santiago Times.
