Work history
    International Sales Events Specialist
An events company specialising in organising hen and stag parties across the UK and Europe. I have consistently exceeded monthly targets and my contribution has been rewarded with a promotion bringing increased responsibility and two pay rises, in the short time I have worked there. Responsibilities include calling and following up all leads, establishing exact client requirements and ultimately closing the sale of bespoke event packages. I communicate verbally and in writing with each of my clients. I have built strong client relationships by listening carefully, asking open questions and ultimately building wholly bespoke packages to suit them. Further, I ensure that written materials, including quotes and itineraries, are correctly presented and include all relevant information. I use my knowledge around each destination to ensure that event timings are correct. Further to my day-to-day role, I have created promotions which have generated additional bookings and found new local suppliers, enabling us to provide a better service to our competitors. I have consistently outperformed my monthly targets.
    Sales Executive
     -
Working across 9 titles within Future Publishing’s prestigious Craft Portfolio. Day to day responsibilities include liaising with clients to ensure their advertising needs and ambitions are matched within Future’s Portfolio. I was heavily involved in the revamp of The Knitter, The Simple Things and Mollie Makes classified sections. I created new features which generated extra revenue. I found a new source of leads, which we were then able to utilise before our competitors; we tried to highlight smaller retailers, thereby helping readers find the best suppliers to suit their needs. The features were designed around the content of the magazine which has strengthened my relationship with the editorial team, which in turn has increased the cohesiveness between the ads in the magazine and the editorial content. I built extremely strong working relationships with clients, increased client spend across our portfolio, which resulted in reducing spend in competitor magazines. I represented Future at shows where I met clients and sourced new leads. I was instrumental in launching the new magazine ‘Love Patchwork and Quilting’. Other responsibilities include flat-planning the classified sections in our new life style magazine ‘The Simple Things’. Sales training, 2 day courses in the following: Negotiation, Assertiveness, Objection handling, Presentation skills
