Design Management and CulturesUniversity of The Arts London (UAL)
- London, United Kingdom
BA (Hons) Design Management and Cultures (DMC) is a unique course that offers a creative approach to the study of design business and global cultures and histories. DMC applies critical and design thinking, as well as interdisciplinary research methods, to a range of projects and collaborations that address human, global, social, business and environmental needs.
Design management is a relatively new profession, but it can be applied to a wide range of sectors including retail, luxury, leisure, entertainment, travel, media, PR, education, museums, galleries, healthcare and charities. Design managers are creative and innovative, and have the skills to lead groups and employees on projects in many business settings.
Professional roles that encompass design management include design department managers, creative directors, design directors, design strategists, design researchers, design consultants, project managers, and executives with responsibility for making design decisions.

Product Design EngineeringBrunel University London
- London, United Kingdom
Brunel's Product Design Engineering BSc degree is for creative thinkers who are also comfortable with mathematics and who enjoy the deeper analysis of functional and technical design challenges, principally focused on industrially-manufactured products. The course spans both design and engineering, developing products that both look good and work well.
There is a strong focus on project-based learning, including academic and industry briefs, as well as case studies. Projects span from initial concept ideation, to prototyping, modelling, and testing, to making the final product. The degree includes workshop training and using industry-standard equipment and software to develop quality hands-on skills. Independent access is available to modern facilities that include dedicated design studios, digital sketching, extensive prototyping workshops, and electronics and digital fabrication labs.
