About me
I'm a woven texiles Designer from the Isle of Man. I specialised into woven textiles in my 2nd year, studying Textiles: Innovation and Design at Loughborough University. I completed a year out in the creative industry between my 2nd and 3rd year. My placements included: Handweavers Studio and Gallery, Claire Christian Couture, The Workbench London. I have now finished my final year at University and I'm ready to make my way into the creative industry. Growing up on the Isle of Man has given me inspiration throughout my development as a designer. Through the new opportunities and experiences offered by University, I have been able to explore a broad range of new processes and materials in my work, as demonstrated with my website. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of my knowledge as I explore construction methods of woven fabric. Through the growth of my understanding I am able to create new work and ideas within my practice. Having the freedom to use many different fibres together inspires me to design new textures and visually interesting pieces.

Aalin Lunnin (Beautiful London) Final project - 3rd year Inspired by the graphic and decorative architecture of London, my collection of fabrics has been produced for use in luxury womenswear. My decision to utilise a bold range of colours and fabrics, has achieved a dynamic sensibility by taking influence from the eclectic architecture of London. Within the construction of my final collection, a diverse assortment of yarns and processes are included in order to complement my chosen theme. The undertaking of this project has encouraged me to push the boundaries of my comprehension of textiles as an industry, and in particular allowed me to cultivate a mature understanding of woven textiles. Isle of Man Decorative and Fine Art Society - Awarded The Young Arts Bursary for 2016-2017
