After studying History (BA Hons) at Manchester University from 2013-2016, I decided to take some time off to travel and rethink my career path. Although I enjoyed my History degree and learnt a lot of valuable skills, by the end it was clear that I missed working creatively and with the level of passion I had previously felt with A-Level Photography.
In September 2017 I started a Photography Masters at Kingston University, London. Unfortunately, it was obvious early on in the course that this wasn't the right fit for me. Despite absolutely loving working creatively again, I was not learning the practical skills I wanted to in order to become employable in the industry. I decided to leave after the first term, and have since gained skills through short courses and work experience. I completed my Level 2 Photoshop course at the Photography Course London, as well as their Retouching for Fashion & Beauty Course. Most recently, in July 2019 I graduated London College of Communication UAL with a distinction in Graduate Diploma Photography.
The fine art style of the Kingston University Masters course provided me with the ability to understand and theorise ideas. However, London College of Communication taught me in depth practical and technical knowledge allowing me to develop my portfolio, and work successfully as a photographers assistant.
I have experience with fine art photography, editorial work, interiors, and portraiture, as well as my own personal work, involving still life and product imagery. I have worked on busy sets with photographers, art directors, producers, stylists, designers and clients, supporting in a multitude of ways, whether that be practically or creatively. I understand the process from the first ideas and mood board to post production and publishing. I am excited to put this experience and knowledge to use and work creatively in a team environment.
