My name is Amy. I am 24 years old, a BA(Hons) Fashion design graduate from Kingston University, specialising in Womenswear but created a genderless collection in my final year. I have had my collection shown in Italian Vogue as well as at London Fashion Week 2014 and after being selected at Graduate Fashion Week, I was selected by Robert Forrest for a design position at Giambattista Valli in Paris. In addition to this, I started up the personal shopping department at Whistles flagship store where I was working at the time. However, missing the practice of design and the elements of the craft I moved on to working as a buying consultant for a specialist accessory agency. I started at Whistles as a sales assistant and progressed quickly to a senior sales position where I sub managed a large team. Due to my extensive knowledge of garment manufacturing and fabric from my fashion design degree and instinctive interest in trend and styling, I naturally found myself building up loyal relationships with their customers and most importantly, with my team. The satisfaction I got from making these women feel good was transformative and I get this same feeling when designing. I am a creative at heart, with a love of connecting fashion with people, a drive of implementing streamlined processes and an eagerness to continue my learning. I am looking to find a job where I can be challenged creatively and operationally, give a lot back and experience new areas of the industry.
