About me
Amy is a textile design graduate of The Arts University Bournemouth specialising in fashion knitwear and digital design. She creates bold, bright and distinctive pieces made for standing out. She strongly believes that there shouldn’t have to be boundaries and restrictions on what people can and can’t wear. Fashion is a very important and effective form of expressing identity/self-expression and intends her work to be wearable by any shape, any gender and any age. She has explored various methods such as hand and machine knit, embellishment, digital print, CAD embroidery and discharge onto fabrics such as wool, felt, jersey and velvet to create fabrics which are suitable for a unisex collection.

  • HOUSE OF WANDS
HOUSE OF WANDSThe inspiration for this project is the mysterious details and hidden symbolism behind Tarot cards. There are four suits in the deck; swords, cups, wands and pentacles. I have titled my project ‘House of Wands’ because it is the suit that is representative of spirituality, inspiration, intuition, creativity and expansion. These qualities reminded me of the reason why fashion exists in the first place – an effective way to express one’s identity and the creativity that is involved in both the designers and wearers. I strongly believe that there shouldn’t have to be boundaries and restrictions on what people can and can’t wear. I want my work to be wearable by any shape, any gender and any age. I have explored various methods such as hand and machine knit, embellishment, digital print, CAD embroidery and discharge onto wool, felt, jersey and velvet to create fabrics which were suitable for a unisex A/W collection.
