Anabela Veloso is an artist from Barcelos, Portugal. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto in 2015, winning a finalist’s honorable mention.
As an intermedia artist, Anabela is mainly influenced by Bruce Nauman’s works and city's sounds, but her main influences are people’s actions and interpretations. Her recent works have based their concept within the human fragility of doubt through perception/ interpretation.
Not having an exclusive working material, she combines video, sound, image, installation and sometimes performance. “It depends on the “solution” I am giving for a specific “problem”. Each problem requires a different treatment, a different eye, a different care.” Her connection to the world brings her these “conceptual issues”, and solving them is to understand them by touching, searching, and creating something new.
