My name is Andrew Collins. I am a Business Management graduate from the University of Birmingham. I graduated in the summer of 2016 with a 2.1 classification. Since then, I have been abroad in Australia, playing as an overseas cricketer for two separate clubs across two seasons. I returned to the UK in April 2018, and I am now actively looking for a graduate job/entry level marketing or PR job.
Organising and coordinating the 'in2' cricket program that runs across Australia for two months running up until the Christmas holidays. This role included planning the sessions and running each of the sessions, with the age range from 4-8.
During my spell playing as an overseas cricketer, I had a part-time job in housekeeping. This helped to develop my professionalism and also my interaction with customers and fellow employees.
I was a coach and coordinator for a summer cricket camp scheme. This involved the planning of the camps, and then running the sessions throughout the summer. The age range of the kids was between 6-15, which helped to develop a range of skills, especially my communication levels, having to deal with varying age groups and abilities.
During the second year at university, I undertook a work placement during my Easter break with a PR agency, Kindred. I had a range of roles that including organising and attending events, contacting new and current client bases and also market research. I was invited back to the company on two separate occasions, firstly in July 2015 and then again in September 2015.
I graduated with a 2.1 in Business Management. This course helped to develop knowledge in a broad range of subjects, including; marketing, HR, finance, accounting, law, leadership and also corporate governance for example.
