About me
I am a freelance photographer based in Cambridgeshire, with over 7 years experience working as a photographer. I have an Advanced Apprenticeship in Photo Imaging and a Masters degree in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism. I started my career in photography in 2009 with the Royal Air Force, where I shot numerous major events for the press, from air-to-air photography to Royal visits. In 2014 I was awarded 'RAF Photographer of the Year’ based on my portfolio of images that year. Always looking to develop and push myself further in photography I completed my Masters in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism in 2017 at the University of Westminster. Having gained experience in both a technical and academic environment I have a broad skillset which means I am capable of handling challenging projects, with a vast amount of experience in problem-solving. I bring a can-do approach to all of my work and ensure my clients brief is always understood and met.

As Station Photographer I was responsible for capturing imagery for various customers across the station, whether it was time critical engineering taskings, or VIP visits such as the Queen. • Adapted to challenging situations such as VIP visits to the Station (Royalty, Prime Minister, etc.), being winched out of a helicopter onto an oil rig, and flying as a passenger in a fast jet aircraft whilst coordinating air-to-air photography of another aircraft. Results from such jobs have been featured in news publications. • Co-ordinated numerous group photographs in excess of 100 people. Organising time and location dependent on lighting, the positioning of aircraft and people, and producing an aesthetically pleasing final result. Strong communication and time management skills ensured that people were not made to wait around for too long during a shoot. • Managed a printing department responsible for providing photographic prints throughout the entire RAF producing thousands of prints per month. Logged all customer orders on a database, helping to prioritise jobs and track the efficiency of the department, enabling transparent quality audits. Maintained all of the printing machines through daily test prints and nozzle cleaning, and stocktaking consumables to ensure the machines were always operable, with paper stocks always available. • Mentored junior staff as they arrived on the team, passing on knowledge and experience to build confidence in their own abilities. • Raised the profile of RAF Photographers on the station as well as amongst the local community, by delivering presentations to RAF Marham station personnel, as well as two local camera clubs. • Received a number of accolades in the annual RAF Photographic Competition, winning RAF Photographer of the Year in 2014.
