• Working in coordination with New Media Team, Creative Team, and Content Team, to plan and exe- cute online marketing campaigns for AlArab News Channel on various platforms. This entails moni- toring online channels and recommending changes and improvements for increased visibility. • Advising the New Media Manager on best practices for monitoring the AlArab website, mobile app and social media platforms involving research of relevant metrics to measure and suitable tools to assist with tracking data and analytics. • Implementing the best online and social media monitoring strategy for our needs to provide insights including, but not limited to, the use of tools such as Google Analytics, Simply Measured and Hoot- suite. Conducting research and analysis of new media trends to optimise digital reach. • Collection and collation of this data into daily, weekly and monthly reports for distribution through- out the company with the aim of directing our online marketing strategy and driving lead generation in support of corporate goals, this involves analysis of a wide range of data accompanied by concise summaries for management. • The collation of data and subsequent creation of reports requires the ability to jump from the analyt- ical side of marketing to the creative side and I enjoy working in a fast-paced with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Assisted the Editor in Chief with the development, design, creation and daily running of a United Na- tions YouTube channel for live events from UN Headquarters, New York. This involved sourcing and collating information and assets from multiple sources, and daily creation of index of live events with surrounding context (pictures, text and video) for publication on the channel and across social media platforms. • Managed the YouTube CMS for the site in conjunction with Replicator manager to begin and end live streams working with the technical department. The creation of live events and the input of relevant metadata and images. Compilation of playlists, features and uploading UN radio programmes. Use of Photoshop, Windows Movie maker and YouTube editing tools. • Edited and published daily advisory plus managed multiple social media platforms for live events tak- ing place at the UN, ICJ as well as breaking news on AP’s live feed including taking grabs for use on Twitter, Facebook, Google + and the Streamworks’ own Word press based website whilst observing PCC guidelines. • Completed an International Women’s Day project involving pupils at a London school (GDST) inter- viewing high ranking female UN officials in New York. Success hinged on close collaboration with the school, UNTV Section, the creation of biographies and scripts, briefing and preparing the teachers and pupils, management of daily call sheets, release forms and relaying information from the gallery in New York to the interviewers during the recording. This appeared on the UN homepage and also on Sky News, ITN and across host of other media. • Account managed the supply of proceedings from the International Court of Justice in The Hague to international broadcasters such as the likes of NHK in Japan, Al Jazeera and The AP. In turn they could access events remotely in high definition over internet protocol as opposed to satellite.
• Identifying news worthy stories within mass of user generated content and subsequently would con- tact the owner to secure syndication rights. Much of this was done via social media and speed was the essence in terms of breaking news. • Establishing a rapport with rights holders to strengthen relationships and in doing so grow potential revenue streams, particularly with video footage. • Liaise with clients usually in the form of predominant media firms to whom I would flag relevant edi- torial content and syndicate material to. In addition to this I would create partnerships with variety of businesses, charities and media. • Secured the rights to videos across diverse and eclectic news themes ranging from charity events to demonstrations in Greece, Egypt and Bahrain.
