Based in Glasgow, Scotland I have predominately worked in Art & Design and Interior Design for over 20 years. I have also worked as a full-time lecturer and subject specialist in Interior Design for 8 eight years at a local college and I was responsible for the curriculum design and implementation of the HND programmes in design there. I have many years experience of working with, and teaching, several software packages such as Adobe Creative Suite (namely Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and several CAD software packages such as Maya, 3D Studio Max, Rhino, Vectorworks, Artlantis and SketchUp Pro. I also have very strong hand drawing and illustration skills. Prior to qualifying in Interior Design in 2003, I was based in my own studio/workshop in Decourcy’s Arcade in Creswell Lane in Glasgow’s trendy West End and worked in several areas of design, specialising in a range of hand-made arts and crafts products, graphic design and decorative interior finishes/murals/faux marquetry etc. I have always had a love of jewellery making and I have just completed a two-year HND course in silversmithing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and aim to continue to work on my skills as a maker along with my other design work. Coming from an interior design and architectural background originally, much of my work is greatly influenced by the clean, geometric lines of the Bauhaus School and it’s architects and artists such as Marcel Breuer, Wassily Kandinsky, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and El Lissitzky. I have always gravitated towards the style of the Bauhaus movement and its uncluttered, fluid and streamlined forms; I can often see it's influence echoed in my own designs. I am available for any design project and I enjoy using my skills in any creative field; I continue to keep up to date with my interests and passions across several design disciplines.
