I was contracted to consult over the marketing and PR efforts made by Deliveroo in Cardiff as part of the continual expansion of their services across the UK. The role saw me taking the responsibility of writing, implementing and managing a full marketing proposal and budget for a three month period. I was able to generate multiple instances of media placement and orchestrated a number of social events for the brand to appear at. Management of the companies social media channels and the implementation of a content and competition strategy led to the set launch target figures being met on time.
Apple Jacks, an aspiring "Surf n Turf' restaurant chain employed me full time to manage the brand, it's marketing strategy and it's design choices. The role included the design and production of all brand assets and marketing material. This included indoor and outdoor signage, menus, print advertising, social media graphics and web content. The companies social media channels and email advertising were also my domain. On joining the company, I had the choice to veer little from the trodden path or instill a new sense of energy and culture into my work surrounding by taking risks and pushing the boundaries of commercial design. I worked with the company for just over a year. Allowing me to face a plethora of challenges associated with communication strategies, design in practice and the art of reading both your customer and your company. Whilst the role was heavily design oriented in my day to day activity, I was required to produce regular reports on our reach, profit increase and our spend per customer increase. My efforts generated a 250% increase in turnover and some of the organisational / management systems that I put in place reduced our staff costs / increased efficiency by 20%. Our social media reach had a steady rise / collection rate of 11-17% per week.
