About me

I have been working as a Graphic Designer for the last 14 years, my area of expertise lies in print design. I currently work in-house for Girlguiding which is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. I have experience of working with one of the most successful media companies in the world - The Bauer Media Group on two of their magazines. I have a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and am proficient in the use of the standard design industry packages: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro, on a Mac. My experience covers both print and digital resources for adults and children. I have worked on a range of projects which include books, catalogues, magazines, brochures, posters, flyers, annual reports, leaflets, logos, badges, certificates and business cards. I am available for work in March.

  • Senior Graphic Designer at Girlguiding for thirteen years. They are leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. I currently work at their Head Office in Victoria and my work there involves working on a variety of different projects. Key responsibilities: • consistently delivered projects to agreed deadline to quality standards • effectively managed multiple projects • designed a variety of different projects, from books, magazines, catalogues, brochures, leaflets, logos, stickers, cloth/metal badges, newsletters, flyers, annual reports, children's books • designed from initial briefs to print-ready artwork • edit and colour correct images • format text & layout designs • work with editorial & production departments • liaise with printers • knowledge of reprographics/printing process • art directing photography • sourcing images



H.bauer Publishing

Apr 2002 - Jun 2003
  • I was previously employed by H.Bauer Publishing, who produce many women's magazines and puzzle magazines like 'Bella', 'Real' and Take a Break' magazines. I worked in the puzzle department on two monthly magazines called 'Take a Break Puzzle' and 'Take a Break Puzzle Selection'. I was responsible for page layout, creating new headers for pages, scanning, editing and colour correcting images/artwork.


Junior Mac Designer & Marketing Assistant

Safety First Aid Group

Jun 2001 - May 2002
  • During my employment at the Safety First Aid Group my key responsibilities as a Junior Mac Operator were to design all of the companies catalogues, brochures, flyers, newsletters, posters and adverts for magazines/newspapers. I also designed page layouts for sales representatives. My other duties were to produce print-ready artwork from concept, take photography of the products, maintain the image library for the department and also to update the company website. I also liaised with staff from other divisions and sales managers for promotional literature. My role as the Marketing Assistant was to assist the Marketing Manager with all marketing projects and general administration as and when required.
