I am a very determined individual who always strives to succeed at whatever it is I am doing. I am a full-time Fashion Marketing and Business Management student and University is bringing me closer to my future goal of being actively involved in the Fashion Industry. During January I had an amazing opportunity to intern for a trend forecasting agency, Trendstop. It was incredible for me as I always wanted to see how trends are being predicted. I'm currently interning for a brilliant PR agency in London, Coffin on Cake. It has been an amazing adventure for me. Working full-time next to talented professionals for period of three months means that I am able to watch them closely and develop skills needed for me to enter the industry. In future I am hoping to be part of a Marketing/PR team, as I find this side of the industry fascinating.
Hitting personal targets, providing super customer service, styling clients, visual merchandising, handling money.
Merchandising products,creating and maintaining relationships with staff where the health drink is sold, looking for marketing oppotiunities (events), using creative media to spread the word about the brand.
Press clipping and team support to include: Monitoring all aspects and platforms of the media for client coverage. Scanning magazines, PDF’s, websites and online media to office spec. Perfecting Photoshop skills Creating Clipping Books for clients Showroom and product support, to include: Assisting sample showroom upkeep, keeping organised and efficient and inputting towards new systems, displays, and merchandising solutions. Stock taking new season collections as they arrive/returned from/to clients, as necessary. Create packing lists for all media call-in’s, organise packaging and manage appropriate courier/postage, organise and manage all sample returns from media. Working on distribution of celebrity product requests and sample picking for celebrities. Support client report updates and PR analysis, to include: Work through media coverage analysing, collating and inputting data into report files and supporting assessment of PR value and key messages for each campaign as necessary. Contacting and dealing with media to gain relevant media data such as circulation and advertising figures. Internal marketing support, to include: Input and ideas on Coffin on Cake brand marketing. Input, research, brainstorming and ideas creation. Support office systems and staff with: Coffin on Cake online social networking with creative copy and research. Product photography and image amendments per client as required. Support general office tasks, such as: Filing of magazines and newspapers. General office upkeep and team support.
Dealing with customers (though following specific rules of customer service), answering the phone, hitting targets(In December 2013 I was the third best sales assistant in Diesel in UK), completing tasks within deadlines(skills transferable to other fields of work), position of a personal shopper, till trained, wide knowledge about fashion, and the company, building trust with customers, developing on best customer service. Occasionally fulfilled the role of a Visual Merchandiser, as well as helped store's VM. Responsible for Rags(sending correct stock to Italy), as requested by management trained new members of staff. Gained enough trust to occasionally fulfil the position of key holder, and manage cash in the mornings, dealt with banking and post office tasks.
During January, I had an incredible opportunity to work for one of the best trend forecasting agenices. It really gave me an insight into a very different side of the industry. Whilst working beside the marketing team, I was in charge of organising mailing lists, completing spreadsheets, using the CRM system and completing visual mood boards as part of content for Trendstop consumers.
I was interning for Naija Living UK for a very brief space of time. As a stylist my role was to come up with a concept that matched the feel of Christmas in relation to target audience. I produced several mood boards with notes on styling tips, make-up and hair ideas. I then selected looks and accessorised them, according to the theme and limitations on brands I was able to select. It was a great experience for me, I really loved the creative process.
