About me

My art practice expresses the beauty and vulgarity of humanity. Work explores sexual difference and gender in a way which holds sexual connotations with non-literal cues.

  • I have been working with an MA student from Goldsmiths university to support an art therapy group for adults with learning disabilities. The group allows service users to explore a wide range of art mediums and express themselves through self- directed practice. Regular art demonstrations communicate ways in which the mediums and materials can be utilised. The group supports service users with communication and seeks to promote service user feedback. This group strongly supports the development of relationships between service users and staff.

  • The journey through my degree has enabled me to draw conclusions about my chosen subject area of sexual difference. This has enabled me to direct my own study around subjects linking to biological and socially defined differences between men and women and the historical and cultural influence which underpins sexual difference. My experience of independent research has enabled me to understand why contemporary artists employ different modes of practice to critically inform and address issues of sexual difference and gender within contemporary fine art discourse. This degree has widened my knowledge in relation to previous patriarchal systems, which have formed social hierarchies within society's structure.
