  • The Quiet at the End of the World
The Quiet at the End of the WorldSet in the far future where the continuation of the human race is in peril, two teenagers discover what it means to be human. The author includes narratives from varied sources, for example: social media, websites, news reports and log books; and expects me as the typesetter to interpret the text and to design styles to match the meaning of her text.
  • Books Boxset Design
Books Boxset DesignFor Special Sales, I create eye-catching slipcase designs to hold fiction series that use artwork from the books in novel compositions. As well as making the slipcase designs, I mock-up the slipcase for the special sales team and customers to sell the product because the buyers will be purchasing online or from catalogues. Currently, I am devising a system that builds slipcase mock-ups more efficiently and realistically using Cinema4D and scripting.
  • Stowe Framework (ongoing)
Stowe Framework (ongoing)The final project for my MA revolves around vernacular typography and its role in placemaking. I am focussing on typography, in particular vernacular typography, because it is a powerful marker of regional identity and has a remarkable ability to capture the character of a specific time and place.

I couldn’t wait to typeset and design the play script as it is different from any other typesetting I had done before. The script changed several times as it was a collaborative piece between dramaturge, director and cast members. The deadlines for print and publication before first shows were tight.
  • Queen's University Symphony Orchestra branding
Queen's University Symphony Orchestra brandingThe project is going back in the archives. Way, way back! This is my first piece of graphic design, a logo for Queen's University Symphony Orchestra when I was playing with them 2009 – 2012. I didn't know what I was doing, had only an idea of where I wanted to end up, and begged my then-flatmate to show me the basics of Adobe Illustrator. Hours of playing with beziers, gradients and linking letters, and the committee loved it! I've opened up the file to neaten it up, and have thought about how
