Anna Westbrook is a Sydney-based writer, university lecturer, freelance educational speaker, private tutor, and mentor. She has a PhD from the University of New South Wales, and 10+ years’ experience working as an educator in creative writing, literature, and critical writing. She works currently at New York University’s Sydney campus. Her debut novel, Dark Fires Shall Burn was published by Scribe in 2016, and she has been previously shortlisted for The Australian/Vogel's Literary Award, received an Australian Society of Authors' Mentorship Award, and an Australian Poetry ‘Poet in Residence’ Award. She has spoken at and run writing workshops for the Sydney Writers’ Festival, Emerging Writers’ Festival, National Young Writers’ Festival, and the New South Wales Writing Centre.
